Congressional Democrats Disclose Latest Set of Jeffrey Epstein Photographs as DOJ Cut-off Date Looms

The House Oversight Committee has released a batch of around 70 photographs from the estate of former found guilty sexual predator Jeffrey Epstein.

This marks the third such disclosure from a cache of over 95,000 photographs the panel has acquired from Epstein's property. It includes images of excerpts from the novel Lolita written across a woman's body, and censored photos of female international passports.

This action occurs hours before the 19th of December due date for the DOJ to release each files related to its inquiry into Epstein.

"These latest photos pose further questions about precisely what the DOJ has in its custody," stated the ranking member of the committee, Robert Garcia.

What is in the Photographs Disclosed

Some of the photos made public on Thursday show Epstein speaking with scholar and advocate Noam Chomsky aboard a personal aircraft; Bill Gates positioned next to a woman whose identity is redacted; Steve Bannon sitting at a table facing Epstein, and previous Alphabet president Sergey Brin at a dinner gathering.

These are the newest affluent, powerful men to be photographed in Epstein's estate images disclosed by the House Oversight Committee - formerly disclosed images also show US President Donald Trump and past president Bill Clinton, as well as movie director Woody Allen, previous US treasury secretary Larry Summers, counsel Alan Dershowitz, Andrew Mountbatton-Windsor, and additional individuals.

Appearing in the photos is not indication of any wrongdoing, and several of the pictured individuals have asserted they were not implicated in Epstein's criminal activity.

In a announcement released with the photo publication, Democratic members on the US House Oversight Committee said the Epstein estate did not supply explanatory details or dates for the images.

"Photos were picked to provide the American people with transparency into a representative sample of the images obtained from the holdings, and to offer perspectives into Epstein's circle and his exceptionally alarming actions," the announcement reads.

The disclosure also includes multiple photographs of passages from the Vladimir Nabokov book Lolita written in dark ink across several locations of a female's body, like her upper body, feet, hip, and back. Lolita recounts the story of a young girl who was exploited by a older literature professor.

A particular passage from the work scrawled across a female's torso states, "Lo-lee-ta: the point of the tongue traveling of three steps down the mouth to alight, at three, on the teeth".

The release also contains a number of photographs of female travel documents and identification documents from countries worldwide, including Lithuania, Russia, the Czech Republic, and Ukraine.

A large portion of the information on the papers, including identities and dates of birth, is redacted but the committee said in a announcement that the travel documents pertain to "individuals whom Jeffrey Epstein and his associates were interacting with".

Another photo depicts Epstein seated at a table in close proximity surrounded by three female figures whose faces have been censored - one individual has her hand on Epstein's chest under his clothing, and a second is crouching to look at a close-by computer. Epstein seems to be assisting the third put on a bracelet.

Another photo made public is a capture of SMS messages from an unnamed person who says they have been supplied "some girls" and are requesting "$one thousand dollars for each individual".

Image Publication Arrives Ahead of DOJ Deadline

The panel has many thousands of photographs in its custody from the Epstein estate, which are "at once explicit and everyday," its statement on Thursday noted.

The Congressional committee first issued a subpoena to the estate of Epstein, who died in a New York correctional facility in 2019 while pending legal proceedings on allegations of sex trafficking, in August.

The photographs and documents the Epstein property provided to the committee are distinct from what is largely referred to "Epstein-related records". That material are records in the justice department's control related to its independent probe into Epstein.

In accordance with the Epstein Files Transparency Act, which Donald Trump made law recently, the DOJ has until 19 December to publish its documents. The extent of what is found in the DOJ's records is unclear, and it's probable that a large amount of the information will be extensively redacted, akin to House Oversight Committee documents
