Tehran reports attacking a US naval base in Bahrain, as the country executed operations across the region in response for a large-scale and ongoing attack targeting the nation by the US and Israel.

Huge plumes of black smoke were seen rising from an zone near the command center of the American Fifth Fleet in Manama, Bahrain. The scope of any damage is unclear and the United States has remained silent.

Missile Defenses Activated

In other parts of the Middle East, the United Arab Emirates, Qatar and Kuwait - which all house American military installations - stated they have shot down incoming projectiles in their territorial skies.

In Doha, Qatar's defence ministry said it had successfully engaged several missiles seemingly aimed at the al-Udeid air base, the biggest US military installation in the region.

Operation "Truthful Promise 4"

The Iranian Revolutionary Guard declared it was striking American facilities and interests as part of military campaign "Truthful Promise 4", in response for the offensive on the Islamic Republic initiated by the US and Israel on Saturday morning.

That preceding assault - initiated at approximately 09:15 Iran time - has so far targeted areas linked to the Tehran's leadership, with US President Donald Trump calling on the people of Iran to rise up against the government.

Additional Developments

In the State of Israel, air raid sirens sounded across the country after the Israel Defense Forces reported it had detected an incoming Iranian missile barrage.

The Ministry of Defence of the UAE said in a statement that the country has been subjected to a "a blatant attack involving Iranian ballistic missiles".

"Emirati air defenses engaged the projectiles with great effectiveness and destroyed a several projectiles," the statement continued.

The statement noted wreckage fell on a neighborhood in Abu Dhabi, causing some structural damage and killing a civilian.

The US Air Force is stationed at Al Dhafra Air Base, south of the Emirati capital, along with the UAE Air Force.
