Manchester United Poised to Secure German Striker Lea Schüller away from Bayern Munich
Manchester United are on the verge of completing the signing for prolific German striker Lea Schüller in a permanent move from Bayern Munich.
A Marquee Signing for the WSL Side
The forward, with half a year remaining on her contract, is known as a consistent goalscorer for her club and the national team. Having scored more than 100 goals for Bayern and scored 54 times in 82 caps for her country. This signing will be seen as a marquee coup for the WSL team.
Departure from Munich was expected since she was seen holding back emotions while thanking the club's supporters after a victory over Bayer Leverkusen recently.
Reports in December that the Frauen-Bundesliga was set to lose one of its top strikers. Per multiple sources, the formalities for the move are now finalised.
Reliable Goal Threat to Boost United's Attack
The experienced striker's arrival should represent a significant uplift to the team's attacking options. Schüller has been remarkably reliable with her finishing in Germany’s top flight.
- For seven consecutive seasons, including the most recent campaign, she achieved at least a double-digit tally of league goals.
- She won the top scorer award in the 2021-22 season with a haul of 16 goals.
