New Details Emerge Concerning the Discovery of the Reiner Couple's Remains

Fresh particulars have surfaced concerning the shocking deaths of esteemed director Rob Reiner and artist Michele Singer Reiner, whose remains were found at their Los Angeles home home on Sunday.

The Initial Report

According to a report referencing a family associate, a practitioner arriving for an appointment initially became concerned after being unable to gain access the residence. This individual then reached out to the couple's daughter, Romy Reiner, who resides close by.

After gaining access to the residence, Romy discovered her father's body. Reports state she then fled the house in anguish, unaware at that moment that her mother's body was also inside. Her roommate who had gone with her then dialed 911. Afterward, first responders discovered Michele Singer Reiner's body.

Criminal Proceedings

The police have charged the couple's 32-year-old son, Nick Reiner, with the charges of premeditated murder, as well as the use of a dangerous weapon, said to be a knife. He is currently being held without bail.

Correcting the Record

The person close to the family also disputed several previously reported details. The source indicated that while Romy Reiner told emergency responders that her brother Nick resided in a separate structure on the grounds, she did not identify him as a suspect at that time.

Furthermore refuted published claims that Rob and Michele Singer Reiner had been especially "apprehensive" about Nick's conduct in the weeks leading up to the incident. Instead the family was "familiar with working through [Nick's] problems together."

The statement also extends to descriptions of alleged "erratic" conduct by Nick at a gathering hosted by Conan O'Brien the evening prior to the discovery. While the source stated they were not in a position to confirm whether Rob had "chastised" his son at the party, they said that suggestions of a "blow-up" between the two were untrue.

Ongoing Inquiry Details

Per law enforcement officials, the medical examiner had yet to determine as of Tuesday whether the Reiners died Saturday night or on Sunday. Preliminary accounts indicated the condition of their bodies implied they had been deceased for a number of hours.

Nick Reiner was apprehended at around 9:30 p.m. on Sunday in the Exposition Park, some 15 miles from the residence. He was scheduled to appear in court on Tuesday, but his legal counsel, Alan Jackson, stated his client had not received medical clearance and would not appear until no sooner than Wednesday.
