Soccer Analyst Sutton Battles Singer Olly Murs in Top Flight Forecasts
Arsenal's 10-game winning streak came to an end by the Black Cats before the global break, but can the Premier League leaders bounce back against north London rivals Spurs this Sunday?
"{I believe like Arsenal are miles ahead of Tottenham currently but Spurs boss Thomas Frank will have a strategy for this game," remarked soccer specialist Chris Sutton.
"Frank will try to nullify Arsenal, who have not always been at their sparkling finest this campaign - but Mikel Arteta's side typically still manage to win."
The analyst is making predictions for all 380 Premier League games this season, against AI, fans and a range of special visitors.
In week 12, he faces performer Olly Murs, who is a United supporter.
Murs' latest album, Knees Up, is available on the weekend.
Soccer and Parenting Experiences
Murs is a skilled soccer player as well as a successful artist and has been a star of multiple Soccer Aid games over time - but he is not intending a professional comeback as a player.
"{I actually played in a charity game the other night for a mate of mine," he said. "The side was trailing 3-1 when I came off in the second half, and they proceeded to win 4-3, so you can interpret that what you want!
"I continue to love football, but I hurt my joint a few years ago and it still isn't where I want it to be. I hope I could play more but the unpredictability of the sport means it's too dangerous for me in my profession to do it seriously again.
"Additionally I am forty-one now, and we are not everyone is Cristiano Ronaldo, are we!? No, I am very happy not playing football and I am gearing up for the time that my daughter or son chooses to play instead."
The singer and his spouse his partner have a young family, Madison and their son, and he is prepared to follow in his father's footsteps by becoming their manager.
"I will not push football on our kids but I've previously told my wife that if they do get the bug for it then I will have to go and get my manager qualifications - and I will probably be coaching their weekend soccer team," he added.
"I watched my relatives play a lot, and I really got into it, and I clearly owned a football club for a period too.
"My father did it with us when I was a child, which is likely where I inherited it. He managed our side for several years and had great fun with it. That could be the future for me as well, and I am excited to it!"
Premier League Predictions
Saturday, 22 November
- Turf Moor, 12:30 GMT
Chelsea might have to wait a bit longer for their star's return from fitness issues but their attack is already stronger with Joao Pedro and Delap both back fit.
In my opinion this fixture will be fairly close, however. The Clarets are well organised and their only at Turf Moor defeats so far have been against Liverpool and Arsenal.
It suggests a 1-1 draw to me, but I am actually going to go with the London side to edge it for what would be their third consecutive Premier League win in a row.
Sutton's forecast: 1-2
The singer's pick: Chelsea will be too strong. 1-3
AI's prediction: 0-2
- Vitality Stadium, 15:00 GMT
The Cherries have lost their previous couple matches - albeit both of them were on the road - but they got absolutely spanked by Aston Villa last time out which surprised me.
On the other hand, the Hammers secured two in a row before the international break and, although both of those games were at home, they do look strong again.
The Hammers' only away win this season came at Nottingham Forest in the summer, when their manager Nuno was still that team's coach.
Therefore, what exactly do I go with here - can West Ham extending their run under Nuno, or Bournemouth responding?
I am going to choose Bournemouth, because I believe what happened against Aston Villa was a blip.
Sutton's forecast: 2-0
The guest's outlook: Bournemouth are doing well but the visitors have picked up under their boss. 2-2
AI's prediction: 1-1
- Amex Stadium, 15:00 GMT
The Bees were seen as one of the favourites for the drop before the season began, but they have impressed a several observers under their manager and are in fine fettle with three wins in their last four games.
A family member advised me to get Brentford striker Igor Thiago in my fantasy soccer team a few weeks back and, unfortunately, I didn't listen.
Thiago will likely find the net again on the weekend but I am nonetheless not going to select him or back the away side at Amex Stadium.
They have not had great success on the road this season, and the Seagulls are always strong at home. The visitors will attempt to attack on the break but I think Fabian Hurzeler's team pose much more of a threat.
The analyst's prediction: 2-1
The singer's view: It could be one of those games where you expect there is going to be a many scores but it in reality turns out to be rather tight. 1-1
AI's outcome: 2-1
- Craven Cottage, 15:00 GMT
It is a massive fixture for Fulham, who have suffered defeat in five of their past six games.
Fulham have have lots of talent in their team but it still feels like they could be dragged into a relegation fight.
Regarding Sunderland, indeed they are the surprise package of the Premier League campaign so far.
Their display in the 2-2 tie with the Gunners last time out was excellent. We have not seen anyone else rough up the Gunners like that this season, and Sunderland were fully competitive for them.
The logical choice to do to support the Black Cats here, because they are obviously able of roughing Fulham up too and, the last time they were in west London, they defeated the Blues at the end of October.
But I am not going to choose that. Rather, I really need to continue going against Sunderland with my predictions. I am claiming a lot of responsibility for their good outcomes because they clearly enjoy to prove me wrong.
Looking at the home side's at Craven Cottage record, the only team they have lost to is Arsenal. Their manager's side will be extremely desperate for a good result, so I am going to predict they will secure three much-needed points.
The expert's forecast: 1-0
The guest's prediction: I'm aware the visitors are performing strongly and additionally that the hosts are on a bad streak... but Fulham have nonetheless been decent at Craven Cottage this campaign. 2-0
The algorithm's prediction: 2-0
- Anfield, 15:00 GMT
This is a hard fixture to call. The Reds have lost seven of their past 10 matches in every tournament, but might they be one of the sides who profit from the {international break|
