Trump Welcomes Relatives of Shot National Guard Soldiers to White House

Former President Donald Trump revealed on the weekend that he has extended an invitation the family of a Guard member tragically killed last week to visit the presidential home.

He noted that he spoke to her parents and they were “heartbroken”.

Information on the Devastating Incident

Soldier Sarah Beckstrom, twenty years old, was fatally shot in a violent incident on last Wednesday in the nation's capital.

Her comrade, Andrew Wolfe, 24, is still in the hospital in grave state.

Memorials across the state have taken place in their honor.

White House Call

The commander-in-chief explained he’s proposed a visit to the White House for the parents of both soldiers of the West Virginia Guard.

“I told them: ‘When you’re ready, because that’s a difficult moment, visit the White House. We’re going to honor Sarah,” the president told the press. “And in the same way with him, recover or not.”

Community Reaction

Community members came together over the weekend at Webster County high school in the state to remember Beckstrom.

Both they had been working with the state guard as part of the president’s federal initiative to support law enforcement in DC.

Paying Tribute to the Soldier

“She was the individual that teachers hoped for. She conducted herself with inner fortitude, a contagious smile and a positive energy that encouraged those around her,” the principal, the head of Beckstrom’s former high school, informed the media. “She was caring, caring and always willing to assist people.”

Memorial plans for Sarah are still being arranged.

Legal Steps and Policy Adjustments

Officials have accused a twenty-nine-year-old suspect with one count of murder and charges of violent assault while armed.

The incident prompted the administration to suspend asylum applications and cease granting entry permits to holders of Afghan passports.

Condition of Andrew Wolfe

Andrew Wolfe, a native of the city, started his military career in February 2019 and is a 2019 graduate of Musselman High, according to the AP.

He remains under medical supervision and is “fighting for his life”, the state’s leader the governor stated on Fox News Channel’s The Sunday Briefing.

Attorney general the attorney general informed the program that she also intended to visit Wolfe’s family.

Impact of Beckstrom

Sarah, from Summersville, completed her education from her high school in June 2023 and enlisted soon after, serving as a military police officer with honor, per the West Virginia National Guard.

“She had a lot of compassion and she certainly had bravery,” he told the audience at the vigil. “Though her life ended too soon, she has created a legacy that’s going to be remembered always.”
